Advanced Theranostics Inc (ATI), a biotech start-up spun out of McMaster University and St Joseph’s Hospital is developing a Point-of-Care infectious disease diagnostic. This disruptive platform device will potentially change the landscape in how infectious diseases are diagnosed, treated and managed by enabling the diagnostic in the field.

We have an innovative research team working in modern lab space at the St. Joseph’s Healthcare Campus of McMaster University, Hamilton. We are expanding our research group with the addition of a highly motivated individual to work on the development of our molecular diagnostic device.

This exciting role will involve the development of isothermal amplification to detect DNA and RNA of several pathogens including viruses and bacteria. Advanced algorithms are utilized to select multiple oligonucleotide primers and assays are optimized for analytical sensitivity.
