The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) and the Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratory Association (EORLA) invites applications for a full-time academic Microbiology position. Candidates must have an MD degree and hold or be eligible for certification in Medical Microbiology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent and be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Alternatively, candidates must have a PhD degree in a related scientific field and be certified or eligible for certification by either the Canadian (FCCM) or American (ABMM) specialty boards.

EORLA is a member owned, not-for-profit organization, which provides laboratory services for 16 hospitals at 18 sites within the Champlain Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) of Eastern Ontario. The EORLA Microbiology laboratory provides comprehensive diagnostic testing in the areas of general bacteriology, pediatric bacteriology, mycology, mycobacteriology, molecular microbiology and virology and does this at 2 sites – The Ottawa Hospital (TOH) and at CHEO. The successful candidate will be based at CHEO where the regional virology lab is located. CHEO is a tertiary care pediatric teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Ottawa.
