Training opportunity in Clinical Microbiology

The Clinical Microbiology Postdoctoral Residency Program at the University of Manitoba, Department of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, is a program for Ph.D. graduates in microbiology or a related field to train to pursue a career as a clinical microbiologist and function within a diagnostic microbiology laboratory setting.  The two-year Program includes training in the microbiology laboratories of the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre, St. Boniface Hospital, Cadham Provincial Laboratory, and the National Microbiology Laboratory, as well as didactic lectures, seminars, rounds, and clinical research. The Program meets the training requirements necessary to sit for the certification examinations offered by the Canadian College of Microbiologists.

Generally, one trainee is accepted into the Program every two years. The next training period will commence on July 1, 2024 and end on June 30, 2026. Please see the posted application form for details.
