Test n Travel is a premier screening service which aims to safely support the diagnosis of infections including COVID-19. By streamlining the testing process we can provide rapid, onsite government certified test results for the benefit of public health. As a member of our team you will help proactively maintain surveillance and awareness of the global epidemiology of disease and rapidly respond to minimize any future impact to the travelling public.

Position: Medical Laboratory Technologist
The successful candidate will perform a variety of manual and automated molecular screening tests with great attention to detail, accuracy and precision, ensuring quality results. Specialized techniques requiring competency include high throughput molecular assays. The successful
candidate will maintain laboratory records, perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of various laboratory instruments, verify patient/quality control results, participate in quality control activities, and assist with training of new employees.

As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT), you will be responsible for the daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples within the laboratory department. You will perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in the processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Saskatchewan Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists (SSMLT).

Additional Required Qualifications:
Graduate of a Medical Laboratory Science (BSc MLS) or an approved School of Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) is required. Current registration with SSMLT is preferred. Attention to detail, aptitude and proficiency in manual extraction and automated techniques is required. The ability to recognize testing/procedural anomalies and act appropriately to resolve
these is required. You are an organized, independent worker and strong team player committed to providing quality patient care. You understand and maintain a working knowledge of analytical techniques and demonstrate excellent problem solving, decision making and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of molecular screening, sources of molecular contamination, and understanding on how to identify and correct possible contamination. You are approachable and reliable. Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems and general computer application is an asset. Current clinical laboratory experience and knowledge in these techniques is preferred. Ability to do advanced maintenance with minimal supervision is an asset.
