Test n Travel is a premier screening service which aims to safely support the diagnosis of infections including COVID-19. By streamlining the testing process we can provide rapid, onsite government certified test results for the benefit of public health. As a member of our team you will help proactively maintain surveillance and awareness of the global epidemiology of disease and rapidly respond to minimize any future impact to the travelling public.

Laboratory Technician
As a Laboratory Technician, you will be part of a laboratory team providing specimen logistic and customer service functions while adhering to laboratory standard operating procedures and laboratory accreditation requirements. You will plan and organize your work responsibilities and processes to perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures which
include: receiving, sorting and validating patient samples, accurate transcription of patient demographics, preforming molecular screening for pathogens, and operating and maintaining laboratory equipment. You will use your knowledge and demonstrated understanding of quality systems to participate in quality control functions and quality improvement activities. You will ensure work processes are carried out with patient and staff safety as a priority.

As a Laboratory Technician, you will provide high quality service to clients in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing
procedures and reporting results.

Required Qualifications:
Experience with molecular testing, including end-point PCR, real time PCR or digital droplet PCR. Knowledge of molecular screening, sources of molecular contamination, and understanding on how to identify and correct possible contamination.

Additional Required Qualifications:
Completion of a high school diploma. Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office. Knowledge of WHMIS and SDS. Manual dexterity for manipulation of specimens. Must be able to give and follow verbal and written direction in English as well as work independently to organize workflow and identify priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of a Bachelors Degree with wet laboratory experience in molecular testing. Other competencies: excellent comprehension, verbal, and written skills with attention to detail, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, excellent at planning, organizing, prioritizing, and multitasking, strong commitment to customer service support, able to work
independently and in a team contributing to a positive work environment. Flexible with the ability to work within an environment of change.
