<p>We are recruiting a chief of paediatric microbiologist to conduct our dynamic team of microbiologists to provide both inpatient and outpatient infectious disease consultation and be involved in teaching and clinical research. The chief organize and develop the laboratory activities particularity the molecular biology and virology laboratory.</p>
<p>The successful applicant must be able to be licensed to practice in Quebec and hold a fellowship in Paediatrics from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada with a subspecialty certification in microbiology.</p>

<p> Saskatchewan Laboratory Disease Control Laboratory, Ministry of Health invites applications from candidates with superior technical, analytical and managerial skills to provide leadership to bacteriology staff in the Saskatchewan Disease Control Laboratory in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.</p>
<p>You will provide leadership in the development, implementation and maintenance of laboratory standards, methods and procedures. Expertise in implementing public health laboratory testing, developing approaches to the detection of new bacterial, fungal and parasitic pathogens, and designing protocols and algorithms for outbreak investigations is essential. The successful candidate will advise clinicians and laboratories in Saskatchewan on the diagnosis of infections.</p>
<p>This position requires the skills and knowledge developed through a graduate degree program and appropriate training in clinical and/or public health laboratories, and the successful candidate will hold advanced certification appropriate to their qualifications, from the Canadian College of Microbiologists or the American Board of Medical Microbiology or the American Board of Medical Laboratory Immunology, or be eligible to sit the exam.</p>
<p>This is a 12 month, fixed term position. <strong>The expected starting date is June 1st 2013.</strong></p>

<p>This 68<sup>th</sup> annual meeting is being hosted by the Alberta Provincial Laboratory of Public Health at the University of Calgary.</p>
<p>Zoonotic diseases are the major focus of this two day meeting, which serves as a forum for physicians, scientists, veterinarians, specialists and public health professionals to present their research and findings for discussion and debate. Symposia will focus on emerging diseases such as Lyme disease, arboviral, rickettsial, bacterial and parasitic infections in humans and animals.</p>
<p>The RR Parker Memorial Speaker is Dr. Heinz Feldmann, Chief at the Rocky Mountain Laboratories, Montana, which specializes in level 4 pathogens. Additional invited speakers include experts in zoonotic and infectious diseases.</p>
<p>Both oral presentations and posters are strongly encouraged from conference registrants, with a strong emphasis on student participation. The deadline for submissions is 15<sup>th </sup>July 2013, indicate your preference for either a poster or oral presentation.</p>
<p>Continuing education credits will be available.</p>
<p>On-line conference registration will be available shortly together with the conference program at the INCDNCM webpage.</p>
<p>Information on preferential accommodation rates at the designated University campus hotel, social events, travel and tourism within the city of Calgary will also be posted on this website.</p>
<p>On-site registration will be available during the conference, although payment will be restricted to cash, cheques and money orders.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Department of Laboratory Medicine with Eastern Health Authority invites applicants for a full-time Clinical Microbiologist position to serve in the Division of Clinical Microbiology.</p>
<p><strong>Eastern Health Authority</strong> is the major Health region of four serving the Province of Newfoundland. The City of St. John’s has two large sites, the Health Sciences Centre and St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, that offer full service Clinical Microbiology Laboratories and work closely under a single administrative unit. The Health Sciences Centre is the largest hospital in the Province, and serves as a referral center for the rest of the Province and as a major teaching hospital for Memorial University. The Health Sciences Centre is situated on the campus of Memorial University in the City of St. John’s. The Division of Clinical Microbiology provides adult and pediatric clinical microbiology services to both the region and the Province. The successful candidate will join a very busy team of Ph.D. Clinical Biochemists, Molecular Geneticists, Cytogeneticists, Medical Microbiologist, and Pathologists to provide laboratory services to Eastern Health and its affiliated hospitals throughout the Province.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Applications are invited for the position of Division Chief, Microbiology Services, St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.</p>
<p><strong>Duties:                                              </strong></p>
<p>This position, which reports to the Clinical Chief of Laboratory Medicine, is responsible for the scientific and technical oversight of the microbiology division which provides a broad range of routine and specialized diagnostic and screening laboratory services in clinical and public health microbiology to various stakeholders throughout the province. The incumbent will provide leadership and supervision in the ongoing development and implementation of new tests and technologies,  quality management system, accreditation etc, and independently establish applied research and development programs in the area of clinical and public health microbiology. The position reports to the Department of Health and Community Services for all aspects related to communicable disease outbreak and surveillance.</p>
