The successful candidate will be joining a team of laboratory physicians and clinical scientists in the Clinical Development & Quality Assurance function of Gamma-Dynacare Medical Laboratories.  The Scientific Director, Microbiology, is accountable for leadership of the medical and scientific aspects of the Microbiology and Molecular Diagnostic service; ensuring expectations are met nationally while supporting the goals of the function and the company.

Accountabilities include working collaboratively within and cross-functionally to achieve functional and corporate strategic goals; serve as a resource to Gamma-Dynacare staff in the interpretation of Microbiology tests/results, test information and method validation. Communicate with associated Physicians, Clients, and Gamma-Dynacare sub-functions as required.

The incumbent will also be accountable to provide expert knowledge with respect to the development of a comprehensive menu of tests in order to position Gamma-Dynacare to contribute significantly to the prediction, prevention and early detection of disease, improved diagnosis, treatment and disease management.
